Finally.....We Have Sod

Owning a brand new home is a neat experience, except when it comes to trying to grow grass......especially down South. For the past nine months, we've been watching our backyard hoping to see some beautiful green grass grow. Instead, all we saw were wheat and weeds growing. What we've learned is that it's very hard to grow grass here (especially fescue) and there are certain types of grass that thrive better than others. So, after talking to numerous neighbors/friends, doing lots of research on the various grass types, and getting different estimates, we now have a sodded backyard. Yeah!!!! Below are the before and after pictures. First, they kill all of it off, clear it and then put top soil down for the grass to grow on. Then, after that process, they lay the sod. We're very happy with the results and thought that we'd share them with you all. Our next project now will be to paint our screened in porch white, stain the floor and then plant some more bushes.
