This past weekend Mike, Julie and Brady came to visit and we all had the best time. It was so entertaining watching Hayden and Brady play together and interact. It’s so special that these little guys are only a month apart, because they’re pretty much into the same things and are great buddies. They are definitely both toddlers and kept all of us on our toes all weekend with all of their energy. So much fun to watch – especially when the boys would hug each other:). Thanks again guys for such an awesome time!!

Picture of the Week
So, another one of my childhood toys makes a comeback this week. Do you all remember the Cabbage Patch dolls that could get wet? Well, here’s my old girl from back in the day. On Friday, Hayden really wanted to give her a bath like we do with Bennet, so I thought, why not. He had so much fun giving her a bath and then drying her off. I think he felt like such a big boy. He’s really getting into role playing and pretend a lot. Lately, he’s pretended to be Sonic or Shadow (his favorite computer game characters from our gym). And for those of you worried that our little boy is now playing with dolls…….don’t worry, he definitely plays with his fair share of trucks, trains, cars and spiderman action figures;).

Fire Station Visit and More Crafts
Our local fire department had an open house that we took the kids to on Sunday afternoon. Hayden had a good time and enjoyed exploring the big fire trucks. Only Bennet wanted to “hang out” with Sparky the fire dog. Hayden wouldn’t get close enough to him to take a picture.
More crafts and coloring fun for Hayden. It’s been a nice way to relax as a family right before bed time and Hayden gets so excited.

More Fun on the Parkway
Today we had a wonderful day trip to The Parkway again. We decided to do something different and drive a little further than normal and check out an apple orchard. We’re really glad that we did and will definitely go again next year, because it was such a neat experience. Hayden and Bennet had a great time and loved the beautiful day and apple picking. After we picked our apples, we drove North and decided to head to Linville Falls again for our picnic lunch. We found a nice area with a lot of tables right by the river. Before we headed home, we went for a leisurely hike by the falls. What we didn’t really expect this trip were the leaves to be so beautiful. Last year, we went during the peak weekend, and they looked almost identical this year. Just gorgeous. Jamie got some great shots of the colors from the car. Now I just have to figure out what to do with all of those apples.

Lovin Craft Time/Play Time
Hayden’s really been liking craft time lately, especially at preschool. He was so proud of the “tree” that he made yesterday.
Enjoying the beautiful fall weather
Fun at the store this morning. Hayden thought this was ketchup and was super excited. Bennet just loves sitting next to Hayden and steering.
This is one of my old Cabbage Patch dolls from when I was a little girl. It’s recently Hayden’s new baby, and he likes to hug and rock it. So sweet.
Definitely our little thumb suckers.
These two were having a lot of fun on the couch together today.
