Mr. Indifferent

We tried Bennet on rice cereal this past weekend and he did great.  He actually made a couple of cute faces and seemed pretty indifferent – just kept eating.  Here’s our smiling boy conquering another milestone.

Welcoming Summer 2011

Nothing says summer like playing with play dough outside, swimming, popsicles, flowers, corn on the cob and cheese burgers.  Happy summer everyone!

Oh, The Places We’ll See

Since we made the move to NC, I’ve been keeping a map of the notable places we’ve traveled to. Where to next?……..

My brother came into town last weekend to meet his new nephew, Bennet, and hang out with the gang.

Slaying the Dragon: Mancation 2011

Here’s a few pics  from a trip a couple friends and I took earlier this month to the Tail of the Dragon, a road thousands of motorcyclists from all across the country pay homage to each summer.

Hayden’s First Visit to the Dentist

Today Hayden had his first visit to the dentist.  Our pediatrician recommended a great pediatric dentist in Cary.  They definitely know how to entertain kids and try to make it as painless as possible.  Each chair has a TV above it and they play kids DVD’s to keep them occupied.  Hayden walked in as his usual self, very happy and enthusiastic.  When they called us back and he sat in the chair, his reaction changed immediately.  His expression in this picture says it all. I love that he has his buddies on his lap to comfort him – it’s so Hayden.  He didn’t stay in the chair long, though, because he started crying as soon as she began.  Instead, he sat on my lap and leaned back for them to examine his teeth.  Poor little guy.  It really wasn’t that bad, but the prize and sticker he received at the end were well deserved by our brave boy.  But for an update, his teeth looked great she said and he still has four more molars in the back yet to come in. Overall, I would say it was a successful visit and he is on his way to a beautiful, healthy smile like his Daddy.  The dentist actually took this picture right before she cleaned his teeth and they just sent it to me via email – pretty fun, huh.

No Fear

So, Hayden definitely has no fear when it comes to doing tricks with Jamie in the water. We can't count the number of times throughout the past week that he wanted to balance on his Daddy's hands. Whenever he'd fall, he would immediately pop back up and ask to do it again. We're amazed at his balance and you can tell that he sure feels comfortable up there.

Bennet's First Swim

This is a special video, because it's Bennet's first time in the pool. He acted exactly how we thought - very relaxed. I know that this will be a fun memory for all of us, especially when we see him jumping in and swimming one day like Hayden is now doing. It goes so fast. Also, when you watch, please ignore my voice. With each video I take, I sound more and more lame;)

Our Jumper

Every time we go to Florida, Hayden always does something new in the pool. On this trip, he couldn't seem to jump in the pool enough. It's so cute to watch his face, because you can tell he was just having a blast.
