Today Hayden had his first visit to the dentist. Our pediatrician recommended a great pediatric dentist in Cary. They definitely know how to entertain kids and try to make it as painless as possible. Each chair has a TV above it and they play kids DVD’s to keep them occupied. Hayden walked in as his usual self, very happy and enthusiastic. When they called us back and he sat in the chair, his reaction changed immediately. His expression in this picture says it all. I love that he has his buddies on his lap to comfort him – it’s so Hayden. He didn’t stay in the chair long, though, because he started crying as soon as she began. Instead, he sat on my lap and leaned back for them to examine his teeth. Poor little guy. It really wasn’t that bad, but the prize and sticker he received at the end were well deserved by our brave boy. But for an update, his teeth looked great she said and he still has four more molars in the back yet to come in. Overall, I would say it was a successful visit and he is on his way to a beautiful, healthy smile like his Daddy. The dentist actually took this picture right before she cleaned his teeth and they just sent it to me via email – pretty fun, huh.
