I’m a little late in posting this, but a month ago, our sweet baby turned into a big boy and is now in a toddler bed. We’ve had this bed sitting in our attic (now basement) forever just waiting to see if he’d really ever need it. Bennet had always loved his crib and never got out, even though he’s been able to climb over it for a while. Well, he finally let us know that he was ready, so here is our big boy in his new bed. He loves it and is very proud! It’s a must see for everyone who comes over, as he’ll immediately take you up to his room to see his “big boy bed”.

Our Top Five of 2013
1. Saying goodbye to North Carolina after an amazing 4 1/2 years.
2. Taking the boys to the University of Iowa for the first time.
3. Hayden’s first time on a tee-ball/soccer team.
4. Our little train conductor’s diaper free!
5. The Ronin family’s first time to the Morton Pumpkin Festival.
Wish I would have started this from the beginning of our blog, but I love looking back at our top five from 2012 and 2011.

1st Snow of the Season
It snowed today for the first time and the boys were very excited. Although it didn’t snow very much or accumulate more than an inch, the kids still had a good time playing in it nonetheless. This was also a big deal for Bennet, because it was his first real time in the snow. I’m sure they’ll be much more snow fun in the next couple of months.

Merry Christmas
Here are our 2013 Christmas card pictures. Our good friends live on a farm and my awesome friend, Jill, took these pictures on her property. Nothing says Central Illinois like pictures in front of a barn with corn in the background. Home sweet home. Thanks again, Jill, we love these pictures. :)

My Little Elves
After we decorated our tree and hung up our stockings, the boys were excited to get into their Christmas p.j.’s and watch Rudolph. These two were all smiles and are now anxiously awaiting the arrival of my family for Christmas and of course, a visit from the big man in red.
Thanksgiving 2013
This year we celebrated Thanksgiving at our house with all of the Ronins and Anthonys. We had such a wonderful time and were so busy catching up that I hardly had a chance to take any pictures. At least we thought to take a picture of everyone together the next day. On Friday, we went to a new Christmas tree farm in Morton to cut down our tree. My family always cut down our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, so we’re happy to carry on the tradition with our family here. Everyone helped us pick out the perfect tree and like Clark and Russ, Jamie and his Dad cut it down and attached it to the top of our car. It was such an awesome holiday, especially our first one in our new house!
Hayden was so excited about the new ornament that he was able to make on Thanksgiving. Thanks again Aunt Molly, the kids loved your craft!

Starved Rock
On the way home from church yesterday, we decided to take a last minute trip to Starved Rock to go hiking. Turned out to be a pretty day and the four of us enjoyed our exercise and some fresh air.
