A Fun Week for the Ronins

Last week, the boys and I flew down to Orlando while Jamie was in France for business.  Hayden and Bennet really liked flying again, which is great, because it’s such a nice flight down there. The three of us missed Jamie, but definitely kept ourselves busy by swimming everyday and going to Magic Kingdom and Epcot again.  Every time we go down there we have so much fun and the boys are little fish.  Hayden had a big couple of days, because I think he can finally swim alone now without water wings.  He took them off at our clubhouse pool and at my parents and was swimming around. It was very exciting for him and he was so proud.  I think by the end of the summer, we won’t need to pack them anymore for him at all.  We are glad to be home, but I think we’ll all be ready to go back to Orlando and Pensacola in a month.

Hayden’s Last Day of Preschool 2014

Today Hayden had his last day of preschool, ever.  I really can’t believe that he’ll be in Kindergarten next year.  Wow.  I’m so happy for him and the progress that he’s made this year.  His teacher was absolutely awesome and taught him so much.  Hayden will miss it but says that he's excited for elementary school.  Now, on to our favorite time of year, summer.

A Rainy Day in the Kitchen

It’s a rainy cold day, so the boys were having fun helping me in the kitchen.  Love having them home to help me.

Tennis Anyone?

The Easter Bunny was very good to the boys again this year and brought a lot of candy as well as sports equipment.  (Boy, that Bunny always seems to know what the kids need.)  We’ve been talking lately about what activities the boys want to sign up for this summer at the Park District and soccer and tennis seem to be coming up a lot, especially for Hayden.  I think you have to be 5 here (hopefully) to sign up for tennis lessons and Hayden’s really, really excited.  We took him to the tennis courts yesterday for the first time and he loved it.  So, today before his afternoon preschool, I took the boys again and had fun taking their pictures.  Hayden has pretty good form and Bennet just cracks me up.  Like any three year old, he was more interested in playing with the door into the court and trying to hit the balls on the ground like golf balls.  I’m thinking that we now have a new destination other than the playgrounds and dairy queen for our bike rides around town.  Definitely going to be hitting up the tennis courts now.

Finally, Spring is Here!

We’re finally enjoying some nice spring weather, so Jamie, the boys and I have been getting outside as much as possible.  It was definitely a very cold and snowy winter – a tough one to move back to:)  But, like always, spring brings gorgeous weather and fun outdoor time.  I dusted off my camera the other day and took the kids to one of our favorite parks for a picnic lunch and out to Lowes, Menards, and Home Depot.  Poor boys have gone everywhere with me looking for bushes/trees to complete our landscaping.
The year has gone so quickly and the boys only have a month left of preschool and nursery school at MHS.  They’re ok with that though, because of all of the traveling we plan to do this summer. The two can’t wait for our big plane ride coming up in a month to Orlando.  Bennet mentions it everyday and is so excited to ride the monorail again.  Much to look forward to with all of the nice spring and summer weather!
