From the Beach to the Mountains

So today was one of the more eventful Tuesdays we've had as a family so far. We decided to head off to the Blue Ridge Mountains and do a little walking/site seeing. We first went to E.B. Jeffress Park to hike by some cascading waterfalls.....very pretty and a nice hike.
We found the Blue Ridge Parkway which winds through the mountains and is just gorgeous. We got lucky, because the weather couldn't have been more perfect either - low 70's and no humidity. After our walk and picnic lunch, we headed down to Boone and Blowing Rock. It was much more built up than we thought it would be, and we could tell that they're quite the tourist destinations. But since today was a random Tuesday in July, we didn't have to deal with any crowds. Downtown Blowing Rock was really neat and had a lot of quaint shops in the downtown area.
As for Hayden, we're so happy with what a little traveler he is. First of all, we don't know what we would do if he didn't like the Bjorn. He just hangs there and takes it all in. He's great, and we were really proud of him. Let's just hope it continues, and I'm not speaking too soon.
