This morning we went to our neighborhood Easter egg hunt at one of our favorite local parks. While we were there, Hayden got to hunt for Easter eggs and meet the Easter Bunny for the first time. He did really well and had a good time sitting next to the big guy. The expressions and pictures definitely speak for themselves. Our neighborhood does an awesome job organizing events like these. They had Dunkin Donuts for everyone, so Jamie got to enjoy some donuts, and I had some of their coffee. Each child got 12 candy filled eggs. Hayden had no idea we kept giving him the same eggs to keep picking up. :) The children also got goody bags with some neat stuff as well. It was so fun though, and after the excitement, we took Hayden for a walk around the park. I took a lot of pictures, and here are some of our favorites.

Friday at the Farm
This morning we went on yet another outing with the boys. NCState had Farm Days where you can take your kids out to their big farm and pet/see the animals. So, we thought, why not – let’s see what it’s all about. It reminded me of home, because although there are cows here, I don’t see them nearly as much as I did living in Illinois. It was a fun little excursion. It was funny, because Noah really seemed to enjoy the animals where Luke just wanted to run and Hayden found it more fun to pick up all of the different rocks. Not a bad Friday morning outing to wear the kids out for their afternoon naps.
Thursday’s Play Date
Here are some pictures from yesterday. We met our friends and all walked to the community center for a little play date.

Tulips
It was another nice spring day, so this afternoon we went to the playground with Hayden’s playgroup buddies then went for a walk. While we were waiting for Jamie to get home, Hayden was having fun playing on our back porch. I usually don’t take pictures of our dinner, but tonight’s was wonderful, so we thought, “Why not?” During Hayden’s nap, I made an excellent pasta salad with mini asparagus, tomatoes, peas and bowtie pasta. I used a sundried tomato pesto, and it turned out really well. Hayden even gave us his approval. We hope you are all enjoying this beautiful spring weather, too! Happy spring everyone!

Our Big Trip To Illinois
Last week the three of us went to Illinois to visit Jamie’s family and had an awesome time. Within that side of the family, there are basically five birthdays from the end of February through March, so we had a lot of celebrating to do. And this year, it was the big 3-0 for Jamie and Mike, which made it even more special. This was Hayden’s first trip to Illinois and Jamie’s hometown, so we took him all over Libertyville and tried to hit some of our favorite spots. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, too, so we were able to be outside a lot. Hayden really enjoyed hanging out with Gigi, Popi, Uncle Mike, Aunt Julie, and Brady. Aunt Molly and Uncle Ryan also made the trip down from Minnesota for our big visit which added to all of the fun. Hayden also got to meet his great Aunt Judy and Uncle Bert, and my best friend (his “Aunt Jodee”) drove up from Peoria to see us for a day. It was definitely so fun with everyone and we talked about how the trip just flew by. We had a wonderful time, and it was great to get everyone in the family together.
Play Date with Brady
Hayden got such a kick out of going to Uncle Mike and Aunt Julie’s and playing with Brady and all of his neat toys. These two boys are absolutely adorable together. Brady is so cute and just the sweetest little boy. It was so fun watching the two little guys interact. How cool that these two cousins are only a month apart.:)
