Hayden’s First Hair Cut
Today was Hayden’s very first hair cut, which was quite the interesting experience. My parents and I took him to a salon that specializes in cutting kids hair, which was the perfect environment for Hayden’s first cut. Luckily, he didn’t cry too much and was happy at the end when he received his prize. It’ll definitely be a fun memory for Hayden to watch on video when he’s older.
Hayden meets his first hair dresser.
They had bubbles there to try to keep the kids from crying, so I tried.
Obviously, the bubbles didn’t work. Poor little guy.
Next up, a lollipop, which seemed to do the trick.

Hi Daddy!
Hayden was so excited to get in the pool that as soon as Grandpa put the water down, he jumped right in – clothes and all. The water was straight from the hose, so it was pretty cold. He didn’t seem to mind though and had a nice time playing outside with the three of us this afternoon.

Sprinkler Sunday
It was hot here this past weekend, so we brought out the sprinkler for Hayden to play with. This little guy sure loves water.

Virginia Beach, Virginia
After lunch, we headed out to Virginia Beach on what felt like a summer day in July – perfect for the beach. We weren’t planning on going at all, but were surprised at how close it was, so we figured, why not? Virginia is so beautiful and the beach was no exception. It definitely differed from the beaches we’ve seen in North and South Carolina in that there are a lot more houses and smaller hotels here – at least from what we’ve explored so far. The boardwalk was neat and was awesome for people watching. Hayden was in heaven in the Atlantic. It’s obviously cold this time of year, but that really didn’t stop him from wanting to get in. He really had a blast playing in the water and the waves. His afternoon nap couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, because I think this little guy was quite worn out. To say the least, the three of us will definitely be back to Virginia soon.
Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia
On Saturday, we decided to test out the new car on a little road trip to Virginia. We started off in historic Williamsburg, which used to be the colonial capital of Virginia. Within this district, we were surprised to find so many authentic and recreated buildings to look like this old city. The nearby downtown area of modern day Williamsburg is also very pretty. We were also able to see some of the campus of the College of William and Mary, which was quite gorgeous. This area is also called the Historic Triangle because the first American settlement of Jamestown and Yorktown are very close. We drove the eight miles to Jamestown, but soon discovered that you had to pay to enter that area. Although it looked neat, we decided that it wasn’t worth the $15.00/adult, because we wanted to go to Virginia Beach instead. Overall, though, it was a beautiful area that we would like to explore again.

Rainbow
Here’s a pretty rainbow that Jamie and I saw the other night while rocking on our porch. We thought it was beautiful, so I thought I would share.
