Just a couple of cute shots from bedtime the other night. The boys sometimes like to play in each other’s beds before story time. We’re lucky in that Bennet is two and has never tried to get out of his crib. Wondering how long that will last, he has really been observing Hayden get in and out of his crib. :)

An Update and a HUGE Thank You!
It’s been such an exciting and busy two months for our family. Jamie got a new job with Caterpillar, so we are moving back to Illinois. It was a hard decision for us, because we love North Carolina, but at the same time, we’re happy to be returning home. I’m very excited to move back to my hometown and be closer to some family and friends. I’ve always wanted to raise my kids there and have them go to school where I went and taught. This past month has been so busy for us making plans and putting our house up for sale. More on that to come…..but I just wanted to give a quick “shout-out” to my parents and my best friend Jodee. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all of your help! While my parents were recently up, we put my Mom and Dad to good use helping us get our house ready to sell. And while we were down here getting ready to move, my best friend Jodee woke up early, stood in line and registered Hayden for preschool for next year. Turns out our hometown is like Cary. If you don’t register your kids in February for the following school year, they’ll most likely be on a waiting list. So, I was so relieved when Jodee said, no problem. What a lifesaver. So, thanks again everyone and more updates to come as we make our way back to the land of corn and pumpkins! :)
I included this picture of Bennet “helping” Papa on his ladder.
Hayden Turns 4!
A week ago our sweet baby turned four years old. We had an awesome weekend and lots of visitors flew in for the big day. We were lucky, because Uncle Bryan, Jan, Nana and Papa came to help our little man celebrate. Once again, Hayden was very spoiled by all of our friends and family. His favorite presents this year were: a scooter, soccer ball, Super Mario Party for Wii, a big castle with knights, and a huge hot wheels. Thank you all for the wonderful gifts and well wishes. Hayden’s Preschool Valentine’s Program
Hayden had such a big day today! His preschool had their big Valentine singing program. Our sweet baby has been practicing for weeks and was so excited this morning. The preschool that Hayden goes to has a Valentine instead of a Christmas program, which I think is a wonderful idea since the holiday season can be so busy. Jamie worked from home this morning, so we could go together and see our boy’s first big show. Hayden was so great and it was awesome to see him sing and dance along with his friends. I got some fun videos of his singing which will be so neat to look back on someday. To top off a good program, he had his Valentine party at school where he and his classmates exchanged Valentines. And to make the day even better, right before nap time, our new dining room table was delivered. We’re still waiting on the matching buffet that’s supposed to be delivered at the end of this month. I can’t wait for dinner tonight, so we can test it out. Hope you all have a very Happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow!

Bennet’s Two Year Update
I took Bennet to the doctor the other day for his two year well check and he did great! His first two years of life have just flown by and he’s been such a joy. His development is right on track and he’s been a very healthy, little guy. Lately, he’s been talking up a storm and his favorite song to sing is “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep”. It’s so cute to watch him sing it while he plays with his trains. Bennet’s always been very laid back and plays by himself so well. Sometimes while Hayden is at preschool and I’m occupied with housework, I can always find him playing quietly by himself. He still loves books and now loves to sit and do look-and-finds before bed. Although he’s still a very good boy, Bennet has definitely entered into the “terrible two” stage and has started saying “mine” and will sometimes hit whoever takes one of his toys. Oh, the joys of toddlerhood:). From the very beginning, he’s admired Hayden so much and will now copy anything his big brother does. It’s made for some very fun and interesting dinner times that for sure. God has definitely blessed us with our boys and we’re looking forward to watching both of them grow in 2013.
Bennet Turns Two!
It’s hard to believe that this little angel turned two on January 11th. Even crazier to imagine, is that it was in the 70’s here in North Carolina for his big day and we were all wearing shorts. It was such a wonderful weekend and it was great to just hang out, go to the zoo and watch Bennet open and play with his new toys. Again, he was quite spoiled by family and friends with all of the wonderful thoughts and presents that were sent. Thomas and choo-choos were definitely the theme this year. Jamie, Hayden and I have been so blessed to have Bennet in our lives. He definitely makes us smile.
Getting excited for his choo-choo cake.
Opening some of his many presents.
Bennet got a red minicooper and was super excited.
I had to include this picture here; love the looks on their faces.
