Our Last Day as Two

Today is officially the last day (or two) of Jamie and I as a couple. Can you believe it? I can't begin to tell you all how excited we are!!! We're still receiving calls/emails about what's going on and why am I passed my due date. (Jodee, you are too cute.) Well, tomorrow I'm being induced in the morning, so he should be here (hopefully) either tomorrow or Friday. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa to bring me presents. It's just such a neat feeling, and it's hard for me to think that it's here already. It doesn't seem like that long ago that we were leaving Fieldstone Drive in Illinois. Time does really fly - we've been here 5 months already. But today my parents and I spent it celebrating. We went out to lunch, bought some more baby books and we're going out to dinner at one of our favorite places from back home. So, it's been a great day and who knows how much sleep we'll get tonight. A lot of you emailed and said you wanted to see more pictures of the nursery stuff, so I included a couple more. I had a hard time fitting the baseball picture and football shelf in the other pictures, so I just took their pictures separately. I can't wait to fill the picture frames on the football shelf. For fun, I included the funniest present we've received......the wee blocker. Anyway, thank you all again for the kind wishes and warm thoughts.

Room Pictures

We've finally put the finishing touches on Hayden's room, and it's officially done!! There were just a few things that we had to hang, and I wanted to make sure I got the pictures of the room for his baby book before he arrived. It was hard to take pictures and get everything in (especially the other pictures/shelf on the wall), but here are just a few pictures nonetheless.

Snow Day!!

When Jamie and I first moved to North Carolina, one of the most popular questions that everyone would ask was, "Does it snow down there?" Well, here are some pictures to answer your question. We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland and work cancelled for the day. Yeahhhhh!!! According to the weather channel, this area only gets about 6.8 inches of snowfall for the entire year. I think we're about ready to reach that point today, as it's been estimated that we should receive between 4-6 inches. It's such an event here, as they cancel basically everything. This morning Jamie and I were like little kids and couldn't wait to get outside to play in it. Our little neighbor boys and their mom were out playing in the snow too, so I had some fun taking some really cute pictures of her two boys in our yard. We've discovered that we really like this amount of snow. It's so pretty when it first falls and is neat, but we know that in a couple days it'll melt and go back to the much loved 50's. That's all the snow we ever want to deal with. Also, since it really doesn't snow much here, no one has any snow gear....like a shovel. When Jamie was done shoveling our driveway, he shoveled it for Sarah (I snuck a shot of him being a nice neighbor - aren't I sneaky). After he was done, another neighbor also asked to borrow the shovel. How funny! Anyway, we're really enjoying our first snow day here. What a better way to spend the day off by enjoying the snow, eating pizza and watching the historic inauguration.

Christmas and New Year Update

We're back from Florida, and we hope that all of you had a very Merry Christmas and New Year! Jamie and I had a great time, and it was a good mix of relaxation and excitement. Christmas was so nice, because we were able to swim and be outside. After Christmas, a good friend of our family, Lorna, came to visit us from San Diego for the last week of our stay. We all went to the beach and Disney, which was so great!  I was very proud of myself, because at 8 months pregnant, I was able to walk around all day and still really enjoy myself, although the rides that I normally would go on were completely off limits this trip for obvious reasons. So overall, it was a good break!
