Update

Here are a couple more pictures of Hayden. He likes being with Daddy in the Bjorn...we even got a smile (although I'm sure that it's just gas). We went to the doctor yesterday for his one month check up, and he's still a healthy growing boy. He's in the 90th percentile for his age and now weighs over 11 pounds. I thought today too while changing a diaper that I heard him coo.....we'll see if that's what it was or if there's more to come. Obviously, more pictures to follow, so stay tuned.

One Month Old!

So, our little man is officially a month old. We really can't believe how fast it has gone and how he really is changing everyday! To say the least, it's been a great month, and Jamie and I are learning how to be parents. I've learned that with a newborn, sleep is very precious, and we try to get it when we can. He's growing really big too. I laugh at all the newborn clothes that we've put away, because even from the start, he didn't fit in them. He's officially into three month clothing and beyond. I also laugh when I'm sitting on the toilet holding him, because he's addicted to the white noise that the fan makes. Jamie and I have decided that we need flat screen TV's in there to keep us entertained. Most of the time, it will immediately calm him down and put him to sleep. People keep asking me who I think that he looks like, and I really have no idea, especially since he has changed SO MUCH. Sometimes I see Jamie when he's sleeping, and other times I think he has my eyes. I guess that is yet to be determined. I can say though, that he has Jamie's hands and feet. Also, congratulations to Julie and Mike. They welcomed a healthy baby boy this week! We're so excited to be an aunt and uncle, and although Hayden can't talk yet, I could tell that when we told him the news, he was also excited to have a future playmate. Anyway, stay tuned for more updates.......

He's Here!!!!

Hayden is finally here and is a week old today! After 30 hours of labor and two hours of pushing our little bundle of joy arrived via C - section on the 27th. It turns out that our "little guy" wasn't so little and was a healthy 9 lbs. 1 oz. He is beautiful, and it's amazing how much he's even changed in a week. He's definitely the biggest blessing and joy in our lives. The first picture was on his first outing to the doctor while the second was on the day that he went home from the hospital. And of course, the last picture is our first as a family. Everything went well, and I can't say enough about the wonders of an epidural:) Nana Deb and Grandpa Mike are here and have a been a HUGE help. We don't know what we'd do without them. Thank you all again for your calls, presents and emails.

Our Last Day as Two

Today is officially the last day (or two) of Jamie and I as a couple. Can you believe it? I can't begin to tell you all how excited we are!!! We're still receiving calls/emails about what's going on and why am I passed my due date. (Jodee, you are too cute.) Well, tomorrow I'm being induced in the morning, so he should be here (hopefully) either tomorrow or Friday. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa to bring me presents. It's just such a neat feeling, and it's hard for me to think that it's here already. It doesn't seem like that long ago that we were leaving Fieldstone Drive in Illinois. Time does really fly - we've been here 5 months already. But today my parents and I spent it celebrating. We went out to lunch, bought some more baby books and we're going out to dinner at one of our favorite places from back home. So, it's been a great day and who knows how much sleep we'll get tonight. A lot of you emailed and said you wanted to see more pictures of the nursery stuff, so I included a couple more. I had a hard time fitting the baseball picture and football shelf in the other pictures, so I just took their pictures separately. I can't wait to fill the picture frames on the football shelf. For fun, I included the funniest present we've received......the wee blocker. Anyway, thank you all again for the kind wishes and warm thoughts.

Room Pictures

We've finally put the finishing touches on Hayden's room, and it's officially done!! There were just a few things that we had to hang, and I wanted to make sure I got the pictures of the room for his baby book before he arrived. It was hard to take pictures and get everything in (especially the other pictures/shelf on the wall), but here are just a few pictures nonetheless.
